so after my delve into the Daytona I've just got it back together and it's chucking every error code in the book at me!

basically I reinstalled idle stepper motor, fitted a new TPS, fitted iridium plugs, new air filter/oil/coolant, and reinstalled o2 sensor. everything went to plan got it all buttoned back up and it's giving me error codes for the ISM, o2 sensor, injectors, coils, and a few more. WTF is going on?! It's like something hasn't plugged back in but I was really methodical putting it all back together.

bike starts but won't hold an idle. I can run diagnostic tests on the ISM and a couple of other things which all seem ok. any input will be gladly welcomed!

    Have you checked the reg/rec?????

Just tossing that up before someone says it

I'd take each part and check the idle stepper motor first, make sure it's moving the bar freely, mine had that issue and wouldn't idle at all.

Then go from there. But seriously, someone will mention the reg/rec as causing the issue

  3. Have you cleared the codes and then they come back on ? As for the idle have you re connected the vacuum pipe on the map sensor, it bolts to the back of the air box pipe goes underneath, very easy to forget it

The reg/rec?? Think it’s fine, currently dangling from the mirror by a cable tie!

Actually wondering if these error codes are stored from when I had the throttle bodies off and did the TPS replacement and stepper motor set up? Not sure why it’s throwing fault codes on the coils etc though. Maybe it’s all linked?

Suppose I could try clearing all the error codes and trying again. If I clear the error codes will they reappear if anything’s actually wrong?

Was replying whilst you posted mate. No didn’t clear them. Just sulked and packed up lol. Vacuum pipe on map sensor is all hooked up...

clear them and try a tps reset. If you've had the ignition on and not everything has been connected that could throw up the codes. I had loads of codes on mine after reffitting my engine, cleared them and nothing came back.

Nice one mate. Will give it another go when I can find the time and see what happens. It makes sense that this is what’s going on

All sorted, nice one buzz. Did as you said and after reset adaptation she actually started. Got the green light on the TPS and jobs a goodun. Will balance the throttle bodies next and then should be good to go. Happy days as they say :)
