I’m so confused. Is it actually possible to switch off the EXUP or read the current map on a 16 reg Daytona675r ?. I tried with an Elm Bluetooth adapter and android TuneECU, all I could do was read faults. I’ve now bought the green adapter OBDII LX, and tried again and I can now install downloaded maps but I can not find an option for switching off the EXUP. Also the “read map” section in TuneECU is greyed out. I know I can buy a servo buddy, which is probably what I’ll end up doing but have I just wasted £60 on the OBII LX adapter ? I can’t find a definitive answer. I keep reading people saying it can’t be done on a 16reg, and others saying yes they’ve done it. (I did it on my 09 reg no problem)

  2. I thought you could still change things like the Exup etc.... but I knew you were locked out of the mapping.
Thought you could do all the rest. You def. got the right lead?

I think so, I just googled OBII LX, and it looks the same as what someone shared a link to on another forum ?

Arrhhh I get it now, I was being stupid (quite normal) I’ve done it now. It’s not as obvious as it was on my old 09 reg but got it done. Also I just gave myself I heart attack. Reprogrammed with valve off, checked and all was ok. Put bike back in garage, thought I’d try again and it wouldn’t start. TuneECU then saying unable to communicate with control unit. I feared the worst but turns out I’d hit the kill switch manoeuvring it in to the garage ‍♂️

Sorry, only just got home or I would have replied.
You can disable the Exup as you've already found and edit and download maps but you cannot "read" or upload the current map from the ECU, so you need to find the ID of the map currently installed and download from the Tuneecu database.
All this needs to done via the Bluetooth adaptor, you already have the correct one to allow remapping, no Tuneecu cable option any more for our bikes although you can still communicate via cable with certain code readers and Dealertool.
I don't think its possible to Read the maps on any post 2013 bikes that require Bluetooth, my Thruxton is the same.

Are you going to unplug the servo completely, I'm not sure if you'll still get a fault code even with it disabled, I don't know if it still needs to see the servo but it just leaves the Exup permanently open, I still have mine connected because I have the Arrow., be interested to find out.

Yeah great info thanks, just what I was after. I have managed to do it and I tried it with the servo unplugged and plugged in both had no fault codes with it disabled in TuneECU I don’t have an issue with EXUP, I just wanted to see what it ran like with it removed as I want to order a Racefit Exhaust

  7. Useful to know that you can also unplug without fault codes with it just disabled in Tuneecu, not sure why people buy servo buddys then.

If you watch the fuel trims at idle you'll notice it changes the fuelling with it fully open (disabled) versus the normal 2/3rds closed position, I let it warm up to at least 70c when it goes into closed loop and did a reset adaption to reset the idle trims, it'll adapt the off idle trims when your riding, its not a massive amount and well within its adaption range.
