    Hey folks,

I'm new to the forum, and I've found a ton of of helpful advice. I have a 2009 Streep Triple, and I've been finding all sorts of good advice on the maintenance.

I'd love to be able to work on the bike, and I'd love to not have to pay thousands for maintenance. I've never done any serious mechanical work on the bike, but it mostly seems doable with the right tools. It would also be an excellent project and a way for me to know my bike a lot better.

If time is not an issue, am I crazy to be attempting to dive in and doing the 24k maintenance on my own? I have the service manual, and I would buy all the needed parts and tools.

    thank you!

    Certainly not

First time I did my 12k and 24k I took a week, little bit here and there though the 24k was much faster and it's nowhere near as hard as it looks or seems

Just take your time, torque everything to spec and double check your work before you put everything back together.

Also, grab yourself an odb2 cable and a cheap android tablet and check everything else is within spec

Oh man... that makes me feel so much better, thank you! I have a few questions on this, if you don't mind.

    1. Do you know of any walkthroughs online? I couldn't find one from start to finish
    2. A dealer tool should do the same thing as the odb2, right? There are a lot of choices out there, and I'm trying to find the right one.
    3. Checking if forks are good and calibrating the throttle are my biggest concerns because I couldn't find anything on them online. Any advice there?

You just need to take your time and follow instructions really like others have said.
I recently did the valve clearances with help from an excellent YouTube video by muddy sump. He’s well known by some members on here and is ex triumph technician. He’s got his own website as well as has a mobile bike mechanics business. A really top guy imho.
