Well last week I fitted the Triumph LeD indicators and flasher relay on my Daytona.

    I only fitted the front.
Went into the garage today and the bike was buzzing and the battery is flat. Everything was working fine last week.

    Any ideas?
Below is how I installed the flasher relay(followed triumph instructions)

When I fitted the flasher relay I thought it was a bit odd how long the earth cable was. I circled the relay and the battery terminal, the cable was about a metre long. Did I do this right?

    Thanks in advance

Don't think you need the relay if only fitting the front ones??

I will be fitting the rear ones when I get a tail tidy.
I read you can use the flasher relay with standard indies and Led or a mixture of both.

They all worked fine when I had finished last week. I assume when plugging in the indies they either work or not?

you need a suitable relay or risistor regardless of if youve fitted fronts or rears or all 4 led's

the earth lead for the relay could go to any point thats earthed dosnt have to go to the battery
what year/model bike have you got

    2015 675r.

Would not having the rear led indies fitted drain the battery?

Or should I connect the relay to the frame not the battery?

shouldnt make a differewnce not having rears fitted maybe its a faulty relay ?
are the newer bikes not led as standard ?
conecting to frame shouldnt realy make a difference too but you might be able to gaet a neater job by doing this
did the buzzing stop when disconecting the relay
it could indicate a short or direct live to the relay rather than it just powering up when indicators are in required

  7. I would say the relays faulty could you fit the old relay with the new indicators and if the battery doesn't drain it's got to be the relay

You know you said that your battery is flat....?
Well, if that was a picture of the Mk1 675, then the battery would be laid on it's side.! :-??

The buzzing was the alarm I think. I stopped when I turned off the alarm.

I could swap the relays back over but the LED indies wouldn't work would they?

Could it be a faulty relay then. I'm assuming I wired it in right.

Everything worked fine until I put the indies on.

maybe double check that the positive and signal feed are the right way around on the relay

That's a pic of my bike. I meant the battery is flat as in no charge. And it is flat on its side aswell.
    It's the mk2 init bein a 2015?

I realised your's was a later bike ging6996, not having actually seen the battery location on the new version bikes I was concerned that it may have been removed & re-installed in the wrong orientation. Presumably that's not the case.
Fwiw I have the same Triumph LED relay on my bike, and wired it up exactly as per those instructions.: original two connections + 3rd terminal to earth point.
From your description, is it possible that when you put the extra terminal to the battery you disconnected the power to the alarm.?
If you had no proper earth connection, except your relay ground wire you would probably get the effect you described.
    Hth.

  14. I trimmed the wire going to the battery. I doubt it would cause you issue but it doesn't need to be so long. Everything else looks good
