    help required please...
I bought a second hand dash a few months back fitted it but didn't fire up my bike due to a flat battery ect ect,
any how tried to fire up my bike yesterday and it wouldn't turn over, I got all the relevant data on the dash ect but just wouldn't turn over.
the dash was set @ 2006-2008 I tried it on the rest of the settings and still no joy.
it originally come off of a 13+ R.
spoken to HM and the lady thinks it might be the wrong back plate, but I really cant see that.
has anybody had any issues like this with their dash?

    many thanks
    Paul

  2. You have the wrong dash. The dash is part of the can bus. If it has incorrect programming on it, it may not pass any of the can bus signals to other components like the ecm.

the problem I am having is that you can set it to 2006 - 2008 with in the dash, I don't understand why you can select that setting if its the wrong dash, also these dashes are supposted to be universal perhaps the wrong backing plate?

  4. Nvm I thought you were attempting to install a 3rd Gen dash into a 2nd Gen bike

no sorry perhaps I didn't explain it properly, I've fitted a HMdash which was on a 2013+ but this dash has settings for 2006-2008
    2009-20012
    13+
    speed triple
I've selected 2006 - 2008 and it will not turn over then selected all and still wouldn't turn over.
every thing lights up gives me voltage ect but wont turn over
    the fuel pumps even primes

Could it be a coincidence, & something unrelated that is preventing the starter from engaging.? (like one of the safety circuits).

If you still have the standard dash I would re-fit that and see if it starts. If it still doesn’t then that will rule out the HM Dash being the problem

Don't want to state the obvious but we've all missed the odd simple fix.
    Kill switch
    Clutch switch
    Neutral.
    Hope you get it sorted.

Have you left the HM Dash out in the cold? I have had issues with mine when left out in the shed during winter months. I now disconnect and leave mine inside during the winter. Try putting it in the airing cupboard for a couple of days and then try it

I had the dash back home yesterday and had taken it to the yard to try again
    Still the same
I've phone HM twice now but they still haven't phoned me back.
The problem is now I think they have stopped making these dashes

Tried it again Saturday and it seems like what one of the other fellas said it's not talking to the ecu
Works fine with the OEM dash so gotta be a software problem
Tried downloading the firmware update and had to find a HEX file..that's more confusing lol
I will try HMracing again!! Today

Yeah I would try update the firmware and re-loading it onto the dash
