Hi there, Hope everyone has had a great holiday (xmas) so far and much food/beer has been consumed by all! I've wasted no time today already and got stuck into my slipper install again, hopefully to rectify my mistakes. I need to strip the clutch down again to change the thrust washer, however when I tightened everything up last time I must have applied to much loctite to the hub nut as now the basket will not budge. I've got the nut off, but the basket/Hub itself will not budge, last time it slid off nicely :/ Any help/tips appreciated as always! Cheers
Localised heat is usually the method used for the release of Loctite bonded components. It is the only method that the Manufacturer Loctite prompts afaik. Because of where you're working in the engine you don't want to risk warping anything, so it's a bit of a .......! Perhaps you could try to hook a three legged puller onto the basket, apply a little pressure & whilst that is tensioned take a blowlamp to the centre boss of the basket around the shaft (try to avoid the shaft itself). Good luck.
Cheers for the reply. I'm gonna give it a little heat tomorrow and see if it helps, if not it's in the van and off to someone who actually knows what there doing. (Clean up my mess haha)
