  1. Yamaha...........................Only kidding. RC8 looks mega. Nice noise too. Can't comment on the ride though.

Also, is it bad that I like those skull headlight thingys?

  6. It's Scott at dundela c90 race in NI last year. He was team mates with McWilliams and set the lap record.

I went out on a new R1 today and i was amazed at the crossplane engine nothing like a normal jap 4 pot. Power is so smooth and linear not peaky at all. The rate at which it gathers speed is alarming, i think because the power is constant and with no 10k goes mental syndrome it catches you by surprise one moment your doing 30 the next you errm not anymore ;)

the onther thing i did not expect just from looking at one is that it actually feels quite narrow when sat on it almost like the Tona, something you would not guess by looking at one as they look really wide from the front. I don't think the turn in is a quick and given the size of the breaks i didn't think they were to hot all things considered.

The engine is definantly the best thing about the Yamaha its great, sounds awsome, and you dont need to rev the nuts off it all the time. It was quite happy to drive through town at 30 in 3rd and still pulls well. I think this is a better road bike then the new ZX10-R i went on, which is a mentalist machine. The shop was selling the demo i had with 1000miles on the clock for a little over £10,000.

Never noticed the skull headlight. Want one even more! Great design feature. Must get saving!

  11. KTM every time for me. Hate Jap crap! (but I do have a soft spot for Honda, my first bike was a CBR600F)

  12. The KTM is a great bike I've had a standard 08 and a 2009 R. They are not everyones cup of tea take it out for at least 2 hours if you hadn't already as many new owners buy one and then moan about the quirks.
You don't get an Ackro can as standard as has been mentioned, expect to shell out £2200 for one of them  . Plus you won't get on many tracks with them.

    My 08

My R with a custom paint job on the tank, which is now a right off :( I will get another one day but I can't justify 9.5k for a second hand bike just for track use now.

    In its track formation.

well i had a 2hr test ride on a 11 RC8R today and i loved it! not mental like the zx10-r i went on but still quick as heck and makes a great noise. i was expecting the throttle to be a bit of a beast after reading about the outgoing R but, it had none of it. it was really nice and progressive that twin spark technology certainly done the trick. would easily go through town at 30 in 3rd with not to much protest. The tourque....hmmmmm....lovely i came off a round about in 2nd and gave it the beans down the slip road and when i changed into 3rd at the botton the front wheel came back into contact with the tarmac :D oppps

great bike the only thing i could moan about was the dunlop smortmax tyres it had on it were shit. wheres my cheque book :)

  16. RC8 every time :) R1's are ridden by twats IMO
