Can iPads do AirPlay to other boxes, knowing apple they have probability only gave it the option to throw it to Apple TV
They should do, I use a remote speaker that works on exactly the same principle as Airplay for music. The device has to be using your WiFi router at the same time as the IPad, when it's on and connected, you should get the icon for Airplay pop up within the play/volume section, my IPad pops it up as an orange coloured icon and lists it as IPad speaker/Phillips Fidelio, you just select which one you want to play the audio stream. It works more like a LAN than a PtP.
Yeah they should work together but this is apple were talking about, I know that you couldn't use some printers to remote print with iPhone/iPad (dunno if that works along the same lines) that's why I was thinking that way, hopefully I'm wrong though and it can get sorted
