Hello mates ! I haven't been here in a while, my bike was garaged cuz I had so much trouble with the stator and regulator, tried to buy the original but it was about 500US and wasn't able to spend that much. I had the stator rebuilt by a friend and it was working great, then the pickup coil failed and I had to tear everything down again, and when was putting everything back together, somehow a bolt went into the stator cover and by the time I noticed there was no charge from the regulator (maybe ran for 30 some secs) I noticed a weird noice and shut the bike down. I opened it and the stator was damaged pretty bad. Bought a Chinese one and was working fine until it didn't. Cables heated and bike shut down when hot and idle. I opened replaced the cables, and again it started and worked just fine. This past Monday bike suddenly started to rattle, like when trying to start going on 2nd gear and then died... Since then it cranks, but won't start, I thought maybe the pickup coil died, so I torn everything down to check for spark and it looks pretty good, Gas pump works... I'm afraid that somehow the timing got screwed and we all know the road to get there , and if it's not I'll might end with a bigger problem. Sorry about all the previous story, but I guess it was fait to tell. Have any of you experienced similar issues? Thanks!!!
Hi Adan, does the bike make a horrible noise when you are turning the engine over even though not during up?? I ask this as I have had a problem with the sprag clutch behind the generator in the past. Good luck mate.
Sorry to read this Adan, sounds like you've had a real run of trouble. I'm afraid I don't have the ability to offer much based on that description, hopefully someone on here with more knowledge may.. Best I can suggest is that I do recall a few issues around the timing chain that had a similar outcome. Good luck, and keep us updated please.
Well it turns just fine, no weird noises it just won't start, but the rattle before shutting down is the question. I was going really slow on 2nd gear like 15 kms/hr because I was gonna stop at red light, had the clutch in, then it turned green and instead of downshift to 1st I just hit the gas, the rattle started and then died I'm worried about the valves cuz a friend had a similar issue of his bike not starting because of a valve. On his case he pushed the bike wey too much. I guess I'll just tear everything down to confirm Thanks for replying!!
I've heard some cases that somehow the timing chain slipped and caused the bike not to run. Sadly local mechanics here don't wanna look at it only one knows the brand, but has no experience. I'll keep you posted!! Cheers!!
Well I found something... I used the tuneecu app and says that there are problems with the injectors and temp sensor from the admission, open circuit, shorted to possitive I attach the pic for the codes, maybe I'm loosing something on the translation. So no gas and where is that sensor at? CheerS!!
So you've got a few issues there, the intake temperature sensor which is error code P0113 is on top of the airbox, it could be a simple case of its not plugged in, but its a simple swap out if you lift the tank, it's held in place by a single bolt. Found the picture on this site, so I know that's the one. As you'll see its right below the ECU, just undo it and replace. , The second, third and forth codes point to the ignition coils which if you remove the airbox you'll have access to them, you'll want to have a look at the wiring going into each plug as I know they can become brittle over time, break and cause issues, a good replacement option for the plugs is to simply buy a spare harness for the bike off ebay, then simply cut and splice in any replacement plugs you desire. Job done and you'll always have spares if you run into any other issues. However, if you've unplugged anything while working on the bike and turned the bike on, the error codes will pop up, so clear them off first and see which ones come back, if they all come back then proceed to check and follow the above suggestions, clear the codes again and see what happens.
I'll get started on that, but it seems pretty awkward to suddenly fail. I unplugged everything cuz I removed the stator cover a day before the incident to replace the pickup coil and it started just fine. Man, I feel frustrated cuz cannot believe it failed that hard. Thanks for the guidance!!!
It happens, thing is if you unplug things and just turn the ignition on the ECU will record errors, normally they go off when you plug it all back in and turn the bike on and off, but if they're causing an EML it can result in unexpected things to happen or not happen. But hopefully if you go back over those things it should help.
Maybe I should unplug the battery when doing this type or work. I'll put it back together, reset errors, check voltages... Other wise I'm gonna have to find a mechanic
Well I checked the injector cables and they all seem fine, got 12v and -11 , for what found out those measurements are ok, so the fuel line should be ok. But still won't start. Cleared all the errors on the ECU. Are there any other sensors that it be worth cleaning or testing?
What is it doing when you push the starter button, is it cranking and not firing or just not cranking at all and going through the dash sweep process again?
