I finally got around to fitting these today after having gone all the way to get them in LA and I was a bit disappointed. I figured they were the exact same as the standard ones but just in black but after I took them out and removed the old ones I instantly realised how wrong my assumption had been. They are light plastic ones, not the black heavy ones I assumed they were. Anyway, on a plus note they look bl**dy awesome along with my black levers giving the front just a nice consistant black look that looks amazing.
I haven't noticed any major vibration yet in terms of feeling it as I ride. I lightly balanced my finger on it as I was riding and noticed some. I am thinking when I get my rearset powder coated I will do these too and get the original ones black. Rearset and pillions black next then those side indicators NEED to go. Look like a hot chick with a big fat zit with them on!
I'm going to email the guy from British Customs and ask him. He was a pretty nice guy. They "felt" plastic but you are right and it could have just been the finish on them combined with the weight. So far been for a couple of 'decent (30 min) rides and am not noticing the difference between them and original and they are lookin great
Just went to the site to find his e-mail and read this: "machined from Derlin" Guess before I never really noticed that line as I have no idea what Derlin is so ignored it. Guess that answers the question though and I'm loving how they look and they feel the same so they're def keepers!
I bought some of these some years ago and they arrived in Sweden and were stopped at customs – I decided not to pay for the taxes they were returned at no cost. I then had them sent to UK and no taxes were asked. If I recall, they were made from some ‘aircraft quality material’ I still have them knocking around somewhere as the bike was sold before I had chance to fit them…
Ahhhh!.....perhaps you mean Delrin???....it's a polyoxymethylene product (spelling???)....basically the same stuff that crash bungs are made from...that makes more sense...very tough, very durable, very not-plastic.
They look good and if it is the same material crash bungs are made from, then it makes practice sence too. How much? Link to where you got them from?.......also is it wrong to like the spikes on the front of your bike?
Lol. Not wrong at all especially when you look at them over the top. Spikes are from ebay, he sells them in packs of 6 so either buy trip it email him and he will send you trip more for 2 pounds more. British customs for the bar ends. Email him and he will work out cheaper postage for you. 11 dollars each. Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
Just did a 600 mile trip this weekend with the new bar ends and must say - the ride was smooth and no vibrations. Super easy to change to these bar ends and no difference at all to your ride, just a whole lot to the look of your bike
On my phone now so can't look it up but it is on the british customs website. Nice guy. Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
