    Bike won't start :(
Connected jump leads to the car with the car idling but still only got a click, dash goes blank and then the rev counter does its sweep again after I let go of the starter.
    Suggestions please?

    It's had the recall done.

If it was getting a Jump wouldn't that mean it was irrelevant? :?

Battery is on Optimate now, will try again tonight.

Pretty much everything above is something to check.
It's going to be because there is insufficient power - so if it's not the RR then the next thing to check is the battery, and if the battery is fine then the next thing to look for are loose connections onto the battery or starter solenoid/starter motor.

Sounds like a bad battery, possibly loose battery connections, I also suspect the jump leads didnt have good connections as the symptom you describe is the bikes system crashing due to low voltage when you press the starter, if the car battery was connected properly whatever else happened the dash shouldn't go dead when you press the starter.

  10. Souds like it's doing the same as when my battery went tits up...

I had the same problem, solved it strange way.

Make sure you have full battery, charge it up.
    Then jump/push start it.

After I started it all went back to normal.

No idea what was the problem.

That would have cured a jammed starter motor-or it used to on ancient BMC cars. A jammed starter won't turn even with a good battery or a jump start.

Kill switch won't allow the clocks to start at all, not cause them to reset.

thats not been said before because non of the symptoms suggest it!

I think those that are saying dead battery are on the right lines. Was on optimate all day but wasn't finished charging last night. Will see what happens this morning.
