Just decided to check the static sag om my bike quick read up on how to and it seems no problem but just checked my handbook and found that it said not to adjust the preload on the rear shock as it's dangerous and may cause an accident but it looks a fairly simple case of loosening the locknut and turning the collar above the spring any advice please
If it were me, I wouldn't worry about it, chatt - the manual for my own 650 advises me that just about every conceivable adjustment I can make to my bike will result in instant death to the rider....it's just Triumph's lawyers protecting themselves.
Adjust away. There is absolutely no reason for you to not adjust your rear preload to give you the correct sag setting. I've done it on mine a few times.
Get adjusting! In fact it's more dangerous not to set the sag for your weight. And if you dont know what your doing check out...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAWLaLf1 ... re=feedwll
Thanks for that looks like I know what im doing this weekend. Is there a special tool for slackening off and adjusting or do use use a blunt screwdriver?!!!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-BRITOOL-C ... 500wt_1156 This is what I've got, works a treat. Alternatively Screwdriver and hammer.
Cheers Steffy sounds a bit more subtle than a screwdriver wonder if good old halfords do them as as won't get an eBay one for the weekend and you know what it's like when you've decided on doing it can't wait
