was just going through my pictures and found this beauty! I took this my self off a rib, it's of HMS Exeter (now decommissioned) during a live firing off of Scotland somewhere, it's a tad wonky due to the sea...

  3. Why are pieces of metal moving fast so exciting?

Now; all we have to do is create a valid terror treat or hype up a rogue nation so the Yanks can go and fire it a somebody!

  4. P.s. Great picture.

What a great picture! I am impressed you had the foresight to capture a uk warship in action before they went the way of diplodocus! That new rail gun seems impressive. It would be a shame to mount such an efficient, 'wealth creating' sector device on something as moribund as a floating, public sector platform!
It looks perfect for swimming in the photo...though perhaps you'll tell us otherwise!

Not quite warm enough for swimming I dont think! I was lucky to get the chance to take it, the system almost always breaks down after one missle is launched as it did on this occasion too!

What's a 'rib'??.....I assume it's not one of those huge things that gets thrown on top of Fred's car at the end of 'The Flintstones'....so what is it??
