    Wow!

What a wake up call. Coming out of my road on cold SP Corsa's and cold tarmac........come to a rolling stop (if that makes sense) and saw nothing coming so pulled out.

With no warning the revs go up, the bike starts to fall on it's side before the back end spins out. My foot hit's the tarmac and before I know it I'm popped up in the air.

Next thing I know, I land on my seat facing the way I wanted to be facing (i.e. down the road) and I carry on as if nothing had happened.

A lady at the bus stop puffed her cheeks and shook her head and a guy actually clapped. I wiped the brow of my helmet and actually said "Phew, that was close" and very slowly rolled to work.

I'm actually taking it to Triumph Manchester (Youles) in a minute to have some recall work done and I'm taking the new Tiger XC out for the day. I don't think I'll tell them what happened otherwise I will be on one of their scooters!

Who needs coffee in the morning......a high side will wake you up much quicker!

I've been deliberating whether to ditch the supercorsa SP that came on the bike and get something more road orientated, now you've just added weight in favour of 'ditch them'

Glad you and the bike are okay (in that order ;) )

Just proves how good the tyres are that youve all felt them let go and saved it. i've had dunlops on and they have let go with no warning

  9. MIne went with no warning but that was on diesel.

Bring on the Pilot Road 3s!

  10. Glad you came away unscathed and we can laugh at the thought of the bystanders looks and you comic style brow wiping!!!

Yeah, as much as I would like to take the plaudits of a great save, the reality was I was just a passenger on a roller coaster i didn't want to be on.

    Certainly got the adrenaline going!

Funny about the guy picking up his dog. That made me laugh out loud.

  16. i wish we had it on camera i guess you used one of your 9 lives good save

  17. Im glad you were able to keep it up Ozzer. Don't blame the Pirelli's tho - I've heard of this happening with many different brands. Cold roads and cold rubber - sometimes they need just a little more caution that we realise.

I'm not put off the SP's. At the end of the day, it was early morning, just above freezing and cold rubber. It doesn't matter what I had on they would have been at their least optimum. I made a mental effort when I picked the bike up from the dealer (I was the way to have some recall work done) that i would ride li,e I normally do and not to be over cautious. I'm just a little more aware they need 10-15 minutes to warm up a little.
