Defo :) Maybe a ride sometime!

On holiday from tomorrow for two weeks but back mid-May. Need to get up to speed on the new bike (which I only picked up last week) when I get back before Cali Superbike School in July, Cadwell in Aug, and Portimao in Sept!

  4. ah ditto to busy time of year! tho do you ride during the weeks?

Not really - don't generally commute as hours are a bit unpredictable and I find it stressful riding in the City, so it's usually mucho late by the time I get home by train and onto the bike.

But if something is planned in advance for after work I will see what I can do! :)

@Tonyk - LOL I forgot you were on one too! Bloody love it :) Still on the other forum but come AR11 there will certainly be a few less SVs there! You going?

@Biggus - I should've guessed you'd be on here! Hehe What do you mean the Striple - you traded your Bonnie in?!? How have I missed that?!? Notes can be compared when I'm back from Malaysia :D

Yeah... Bonnie goes on Saturday, cost of a 12k service made me think... ya know what, put that wedge towards a new motorsickle :)

Pleased I got reasonable trade in for it since I done 4 years average mileage in 8 months

Ooo what was the cost of a 12k service then?? All the insurance cos I called for a quote on the Daytona seemed to think I was nuts for wanting cover for 14k miles a year, but I know from the last two years that 13k isn't enough, notwithstanding the fact I don't commute...

I was quoted in the region of £450 for it by a stealer, & I bet they don't actually check the bloody valve clearances anyway... I recall my local Honda stealer admitting to a friend of mine that valve clearance checks were something that was charged for but never done... I really would love to see motorcycle workshops the subject of hidden camera Cook report/Watchdog type stuff as there are some real bandits out there charging for but not doing the work. I always check sump plugs & axle nut torques etc when I get my bike back because regardless of anything else, it's my a$$ that's going to get hurt if someone at the garage hasn't done it right.

As you know DDG, I'd rather do it myself... But I can't stamp my book :(

  15. Ask if you can stand and watch the tech do the service, say you'll have a hard hat on if they pull the old elf and safety card. If they say no, threaten to go elsewhere.

Personally, I hate having someone looking over my shoulder when I'm working... it's all a way off now as I'm back to zero with the new bike :)

  17. When insuring a bike, the company always asks for a mileage estimate. I always say below 4k but do lots more.
How would they ever know any different?

  18. Furry muff. Enjoy clocking up the miles
