Read at least 2 articles in Sportbike mags of late where the journo refers to wearing his i-pod while riding. Is this legal? I quite fancy it on those 'getting from A to B runs'

  2. Not sure tbhbut a kid from uni rides with his on. He does ride an aprillia twin with race exhaust though :)

My mate always has his on to work and back. I found it had quite an influence on my riding. All calm, then bang!! Prodigy and your a race rep!! Look down and speeding in a big way. Not fitted my Starcom intercom to my Daytona. Just concentrate and enjoy the exhaust and ride.

Dunno bout this one, driving the jamjar with loud music doesnt bother so why would it make any difference riding with earphones? I suppose it shouldnt but maybe its just the idea of putting something in your ears thats gonna block out noise, I mean i dont even put ear plugs in to protect my hearing.

I just ride to the sound of the wind and the engine, and thats the way i am most comfortable with. That way I can hear everything

If you can still hear a reasonable amount of what's going on i.e. car horns etc you should be OK. As steffy says you just have to watch what affect music has on your riding style. It's not illegal AFAIK.

As for earplugs, I've worn them since I swapped the standard exhaust on my last bike. When I started riding with them I just found it more calming and allowed me to concentrate more on riding. They don't mute the outside world, just turn the volume down a bit.

Whats would everybodys ultimate riding tune be? (on the bike of course) ;)

  13. I wear ear plugs and i swap these for earphones when I ride on my own. I cant see how it could be any worse than the cruise guys using distorted bass to push the car down the road.

as for tunes, i dont have a favourite/ultimate but i have found some tunes that I cant ride to. these are tunes that i love buy being on the bike with them means i would loose my license.

DJ shadow's Blood on the motorway. Which would most likey end up as a description. in fact the majority of the album private press is great to drive to, if you can monitor the speed.

Anything by Muse used to make me drive faster and faster in the car - would be proper carnage on the bike !
