Wow a mini that doesn't have the arches/scuttle/a pannel/boot floor/battery box/door bottoms blown to bits with rust

Love a mini, my first car they are getting pricey now though. I always wanted a vtech conversion with flip front.

I hate to disappoint you TJ it's not a nice one, there's not much holding the wings to the A panels

My Father in law is a mechanic and is not a huge fan of the classic mini being a big bloke. He remembers one going to an MOT once and when the tester was underneath he noticed the only thing holding the battery in place where the wires going to the terminals  it was just floating

No they aren't great, the wife had one as her first car it was a 1973 model wish she still had it as it was a nice one but that was 27yrs ago haha

  7. I always lusted after a Cooper S in BRG, if they weren't all rust buckets now I'd look for one.

Is that one standard or has it been modded? My mate used to have a 1330 with a straight cut gearbox, was like a big go cart and sounded awesome.

I once had a red 1275GT on 1978 "S" plate bought from an old chap just down our lane for peanuts - it was in the early to mid eighties just remember the thing going like the stink (it seemed) considering it was kust like a gokart so skittish but by crist it was fun! Remember one of my mates sat in the back covering my eyes with his hands just as we went over a humped back bridge on the local back lanes and me having to do a Paddy Hopkirk to get it out of the field we ended up in (AH the innocence of those bygone days!!!) I finally got rid when the only thing holding the interior floor pans to the sills or bulkhead was the carpet also the arse end subframe had rotted into several "Bits" if I recall but in hindsight there was another I wish id stuck in the garage for when I got older or at least given it a bit more love and attention at the time. Super memories!!! :D :D :D

No illusions about Mini's after owning two of them years back, problems during ownership included a piece of 3/4" plywood for a floor on the drivers side (previous owner), the passengers door falling off, driving up the road crab fashion because of a crap subframe repair, bypass hose every few months, the electrics dying because the regulator box was full of water, no brakes because the slave cyl seals were worn away.

God those cars were shite to own, but they did start every time and they went round corners like nothing else I've ever driven.
