Let the silly season begin. Yamaha have made an offer to Marquez and intend to move Cal or Dovi up and stick him in Tech 3 with Brad. Somewhere on a motorhome crossing Europe towards Silverstone VR46 and Uccio are drinking esspressos waiting on the phone ringing. Somewhere in Kent Nakamoto-San is looking out his window then back to his phone, then out the window again...wondering what to do. Possibly
Marc VDS press officer has also mentioned that "the boys with the big toys are very interested" in Scott Redding. Good thoughts on the Marquez conundrum, i like the comment stating "why not rename it the Marc Marquez show?" http://motomatters.com/news/2012/06/12/ ... Matters%29 The marketplace is so crowded you cant say that Redding, Luthi, Espargaro don't deserve a shot. Thats not to mention Laverty and Rea in SBK. Are they going to want to jump on a CRT ? This could be a make or break year for MotoGP as a business. From a TV spectacle how will a director say balance 2 or 3 factory bikes away at the front and maybe 20 CRT bikes all dog fighting further back. This will have massive implications on sponsors and viewers. They are going to have to think of something quick. Could you imagine Rossi, Hayden, Edwards, Spies all stick their heads together and decide to go to SBK. Goodbye MotoGP.
Excuse my ignorance but what would be the ramifications if they did? Provided the two smaller classes moved across too and the factories took their moto gp budgets to the superbikes?
I dont think they smaller classes would move but its just the case that if big profile riders go to sbk they take the fans and the sponsorship with them. It would surely see a meteoric rise in SBK viewing figures and profile. It probably wont happen until they are thinking of retiring though. Would you tune in to watch Lorenzo v Pedrosa every race ?
No not at all, but when when you’ve got world champions retiring before they’ve hit their prime cos they don’t enjoy the way its run anymore, kind of gives you an indication of where its headed and how urgent it is that somethings done about that. My first love was WSB so i'd have absolutely no problem whatsoever watching the GP boys on Superbikes (and lets be honest its twice as intersting to watch). I would miss the smaller classes though.
I only watch MotoGP now to see Cal whoop Dovi in a hope he gets the factory ride next year. He's been on a Yamaha for years and is doing exceptionally well in only his 2nd year. Well deserves the ride. Put Dovi back on a Honda somewhere, he's had his shot at HRC!
Think spies will get the boot, back too ama? pedrosa has dodged a sacking from hrc. lorenzo is the best rider out there by far. crt is pretty lame so far . why they on the podium? they lost. really want too see j rea in motogp but lets get his honda in wsb sorted 1st as its a dog. cal for factory ride... dovi has had his chance. oh and pedrosa v lorenzo would be boring for none lorenzo fans as he would storm off after 1st lap. moto2 and 1 rock. remember i am a massive lorenzo fan, he is the complet rider jus wish rossi was there too.
