MCE - INSURANCE VAMPIRES

Discussion in 'General' started by BenGrrr, Sep 10, 2013.

  1. Very miffed!!!

Just called MCE to change the location of where my bikes being kept. due to a broken arm and nerve problems its likely for the forceable future ill not be able to use it. If my nerve doesn't ever recover i'm looking at the possibility of having to never ride again.
    Anyway
It changed location from rough south London "High Risk" driveway to a quiet street location garaged and unridden.
Expecting some change probably for the better i was hoping my policy would go down. Only to be told that my policy doesn't change and I will have to pay £49 admin fees!
Told him that was ridiculous. After "chatting" or leaving me on hold for 2mins to his boss it reduced to £17.50. Still its absurd. I said i will not use them again, even if its the cheapest quote. These insurance providers need dealing with from a higher level cos theres only so much sticking 2 fingers up to customers before we say fuck you!

  2. Depending how long was left, I would have cancelled it and found another broker a lot cheaper,

  3. yeah unfortunately it running till april. screw em thats the last of my business to them

  4. I rang them as had a letter for renewal but no price. I was asked for my details and I said I've been insured with you for last three years you have my details. She replies I need your details again for quote.
Told her to go shove it and send me my no claims proof which took three further calls and two months. Useless retards.

We got a renewal through no price, rang it up oh that will £480 ok we thought no too bad for OH on his new ninja with a checkered past.

I then was on PC doing mine and thought I run his details through compare site
Bang first one to come up MCE £224 - WTF

Straight on phone , oh yeah it is much cheaper to do it on line, errr did you not think to tell us that, luckily because it was it was in cooling period they cancel the dear policy and let us take out the cheaper one. So yeah never ring for a quote..!

These people are complete fools! dont even ask how high my insurance was first year with no claims but they basically raped me, but so would have all the other insurance companys i looked at so didnt really blame them.

Just started looking to renew my insurance last week and had checked online for prices already when they started calling me non stop to go with them again for a better deal than last year. The woman had the cheek to ask for my details again so i told i didnt have time then all of a sudden...opps hold on sir i've found them and your quote is £1700!!! .....over grand higher than what they quoted me online   .

She then argued with me that there was no way anyone would do it for £600 with extras thrown in. At which point i just laughed and said they would be mugs wouldn't they because its the same fucking company you work for and hung up :D :D :D

Had the same with mine too Ben am with mce and trying to reduce my monthly out goings, it's garaged and everything but would cost me more to change policy to a lower then to keep paying my current one, as not many payments left I may aswell keep it and get the extra year ncb. But yeah am not happy with them too

No doubt they’ll blame it on people deliberately driving into busses for compo or some such bollocks.

Another lot for the turbo AIDS pile.

JMI or Just Motorcycle Insurance must be of the same turbo AIDS pile because they were crap. Sold my bike 4 month before the term was over phoned up to cancel and they said yep ok thats £30 admin fee, total rebate after this was £14! So your telling me 4month insurance was only worth £44 quid? Nobbers, it also took 3 emails and a phone call before I finally got my proof of NCB through.

  12. Yeah im gonna bin them next year. So irritating

  13. Was with MCE on my 125, after passing my test they wanted £71 extra!! Or £550 to change to my Street Triple for 9 months. Told em to poke it and got insured through Triumph for £350 (for a year). After cancelling 3 months into policy with them on the 125 (which cost £315) I got £11 refund..Which I never actually got.

Don't care how cheap they are they will never get my business again....

  14. MCE sent my renewal through and didn't have my extras listed. So phoned them up, and absolutely no record of my extras (exhaust, rear shock etc). So in essence I ha just spent a year uninsured according to them. The extras were on the schedule they sent to me at the start but I imagine they'd claim I forged it or something. Anyway never again and I now just find te cheapest quote I can, then ring up IAM'S surity and they match it!!!! Plus legal and all that!!! Everyone MUST do IAMS

  15. Must say ive never heard of IAMS. Other than cat biscuits. Thanks for the tip!

I think that cheapest isn't always the best when it comes to insurance... it's great if you don't have to claim... but the IAM scheme sounds pretty good - though you do have to also pay your annual membership to the IAM.

IAM Surety is run by Adelaide Insurance Brokers, in Belfast. Nice people, they don't read from some stupid script. I wanted to do the IAMS scheme but they matched the price anyway so it was just as good. Policy is with KGM, a Lloyds lot, I have yet to test the claims.
