On a forward facing cam, i:e the ones on motorways, how do they go about prosecuting motorbikes?

  3. Was it a speed camera van or an ANPR one, there was one out on the outskirts of my town on Saturday, I did hear it was out when it was getting dark so I guess with the new tax rules they're out to get as many as poss

Yes its a van,the type that has a camara at the front side and back and it was pitch black, the stretch it was on is a dual carrigeway with a 40 mph and must are exceeding that.

i passed 1 a few weeks ago in the car 96mph didnt hear anything i was worried for a few weeks but passed another about 2 weeks ago and noticed the back window was open and that made me think
the other week it was around 6 to 6.30 at night so getting dark and slightly raining but the window was closed so think i got lucky they have blacked out windows so unless there opened up i wouldnt think they can use the speed camera
anpr cameras are a totaly different thing as they dont have to focus on a set point

The front camara hatch was open i couldnt see the back one so i am guessing it was checking speed,i will be keeping my eyes peeled for the sneeky bastards in future.

I know this'll sounds mental, you could always simply stay within the speed Limit!?

Na, it'll never catch on :)

I know speedings against the law but they spend so much cash on it. I feel sorry for the guys who get caught out by accident because it screws everything up when you get points. Though some people need to be caught who are just morons on the road.

  10. Yes exactly rossgo. I had to do a speed awareness course in the summer and I'm not saying I didn't deserve to do it but I know people that speed everywhere and some are down right dangerous drivers and they never seem to get caught. They are just very lucky I guess

They usually have a low level flash to capture the numberplate. So yes they do work in the dark.

  15. These IR at night, which works in pitch black
