Hi everyone...again, So i recently took delivery of a set of OZ wheels for my 2006 daytona, after a very long wait. Naturally i couldn't wait to get them on, the front fits perfectly, the rear however does not. The issue i have, is that the captive spacer on the disc side appears to be about 2/3mm to wide and therefore the wheel will not fit between the swingarm with the caliper bracket in place. I'm sure the spacer could be machined down a little to allow the fitment, however I'm not sure who to entrust in doing the work. I live just down the road from harris performance so will give them a call in the morning, however i thought i'd ask around to see if anyone had any other recommendations failing this? Cheers
Could try fitting the wheel spindle through both wheels loose with the spacers fitted and marking it with a scribe or similar sharp object to work out the difference? Or if you've got access to a vernier measure the amount of exposed wheel spindle on both
I used the 675 spacers for the wheel to get the basic size. Then cut washers in half that varied in size and packed them on the spindle so it made the axle sit the exact same when flush when torqued. Took the amount of spacers and added onto the stock captive spacers and gave the guy the altered sizes and asked for them 2.5mm longer on each side and worked a treat Take your time as it's the rear wheel bud.
Cheers for the suggestions chaps. The bike is loaded up and will be with harris tomorrow, hopefully they will have it sorted. I don't trust myself with something like this!
