Commuting in today, had to filter through 6.7 miles (per Google maps) of 3 lanes of stationary traffic. And what was the problem at the end of it? A pile up on the other side of the road :roll: At least I could keep going at up to 30mph goodness knows how long it took those idiots to get to the scene (and then because they're going so slow they might as well have a good old look). I really think one of the first jobs the police should do is set up screens so that the traffic can't see all their pretty flashing blue lights. :evil:
That sounds like a really good idea Stu675. I wonder how many accidents are caused each year by rubberneckers.? Notice also how many people love to have a good old look, but if the same people are ever in a position to be of any practical assistance (eg; if an old dear slips over on the ice, like today) they suddenly don't see anything & will just "truck on by" in their droves. :twisted:
i like the idea of 5 foot high solid barriers in the middle of all motorways. 1. rubberneckers. they wont have anything to look at. 2. they won't cut you in half like the legs of the current barriers. 3. i can use high beams more often.
While we are ranting ...... The allegation of me being a rubber necker just cos I have the misfortune to be stuck in a wall of traffic always boils my piss. I often have to sit in traffic queues cos there has been an accident on the opposite carriageway as I drive about 50K miles a year and almost live on the motorways. I have to say on a selfish and personal level, I really could not care less what's gone on over there. It can be a 3 ring circus giving a full performance - or a hundred dead and gory bodies sprayed over all 3 lanes - I just dont give a fook. I want to move forwards but I cannot through no fault of mine. It's full of cars. Therefore I have to sit there like a lemon until I eventually get to the front. If anything - I watch where I am going more carefully cos there are always some nobs in the lines. I am always kinda glad it's the other direction the old bill will shut and not mine - but beyond that all I wanna do is get to where I am going. The fact the old bill , radio and others rank me in and doubtless many other also fooked off drivers in with some of the plebs that can't drive anyway has always seriously pissed me off. NOT EVERYONE is rubbernecking - many of us are just stuck there rant over .....
Seen people filming it on their phones and I guess that's how half the stuff on youtube gets there. People will always have that inquisitive nature so to speak, horrible but not much you can do about it I'm afraid. Sent from my BlackBerry 9320 using Tapatalk
