I received a seat cowl yesterday that I ordered for my 675R but the colour shade looks wrong. My bike is Crystal White and Lings confirmed the part number is right. It even says 'Crystal White' on the box. The seat cowl is slightly darker than the rest of the bike but is still metallic. It looks wrong. I'm wondering if I got the wrong coloured cowl in the box. Has anyone else had an issue with colour matching of the seat cowl on their 675R? Cheers!
I dont have the R i have the white SE did not have any problems with mine i think you should take it to them with the bike to prove the point i could well be the wrong one in the box by the sound of it bud
Sounds like a production issue. The same metallic colour can look completely different if the panel is painted horizonal or vertical. Do as Rockjock suggests. After all the cowls are not cheap.
I had a similar problem with my 675R, looked fine in the showroom but once I had got home I noticed it looked more cream than white! Contacted the dealer and sent some pictures and it got changed under the warranty.
My seat cowl colour matched fine so it's probably a bad paint batch or something (pearlescent not metallic btw). I beleive Craig had something re-lacquered as the stickers were applied afterwards and weren't lacquered over.
iirc the 675R stickers are not lacquered over, so racers can peel them off, I might be wrong though. So don't shoot me!
Update. Lings called Triumph and they said that there had been some seat cowls boxed incorrectly. Lings are sending me a new one in the correct Crystal White. Happy days.
