My 675 stalls a couple of times a week when slowing down for red lights etc over a weekly distance of 150 miles. Also when dropping into 1st the revs drop to below 1000 and other times it stays at normal idle speed. It's like the idle stepper motor isn't doing it's job. I've done the reset tps etc but no different.
How is bike normally run. Lots of short journeys or thrashed a lot. Find idle motors stick from coking up from lots of short runs. Could be a idea taking it off and cleaning it out with some carb cleaner.
Bikes a sept 2010 and done 5k so air filter would be ok. The main thing I wanted to know was how common it is. Will take to dealer again. Thanks for the replies everyone
If you used TuneECU to reset your TPS i am pretty sure that on the test screen there is one that's for the idle stepper motor.
I'd have to differ to someone with greater knowledge then mine on that dude. I recalled the stepper motor test, as i had to reset my TPS the other day and I have TuneECU as well.
Had the same issue. Bike when in for 6000 mile service and issue now gone. Might be worth ringing a dealer and find out what they do during this service.
Balanced throttle bodies last night and cleaned throttle butterflies then reset adaptives and TPS then done 50 miles today without a hint of stalling. Fingers crossed cured it.
