The idle stepper motor just controls idle mate. Engine stutter could be a few issues with the bike Common is exup if it's shut and seized engine will big from 5k-7k then pick up. If the idle motor went the idle would not go below 2k revs, if the gauges go downwards showing declining temp it's the temp sensor and occasionally the stepper motor. I bought this to replace mine but I fitted a manual kit so selling my spare
