Like it says on the tin really ^^ They aren't cheap - so the kevlar lined tank sliders/protectors...has anyone been unfortunate enough to test them out? I'm being met with scepticism from those that I've mentioned them to, but having just stuck a massive dent in one tank, and fearing doing the same to the next, I'm inclined to think they might be worth a shot. Anyone? Cheers, bex
You mean these things, don't you bex.? I will be interested to hear from any "crash testers" on this too, because I haven't invested in any (yet) & have a couple of dented tanks. Everyone who has them seem to be immune from crashing, so maybe for that reason alone.?
I had a high-speed lowsider on Brno a few weeks ago. The tank did'nt suffer any damage, but i decided to buy the 'small carbon tank sliders' from R&G anyway. Some time ago when i crashed on my R1, the tank was damaged exactly where the sliders are supposed to protect.
Also they're good if you already have a dent on the corner of your tank, pop them on and it all looks good again, obviously won't work if you've had quite a big dent but good for little ones.
Oh and as well, you can buy them in singles, so if you crashed on one side and damage one you don't have to cough up for a whole pair
yes they work…had a small off at Silverstone, snapped clipons, peg on the same side, cracked the tail fairing, sheared my rear paddock bobbin off, but apart from the wearing down of about half a mill on the tank slider, the tank was fine edit/ mine is an R&G one, I think Dodge does them as well ?
