hard to believe i know but.... wtf are these stripes that keep coming back on my pillion seat? its like grease but ive no ideas how they keep getting there :?
I would say its unburnt fuel from your exhaust being drawn back from the can exit by turbulence created by you, I don't know if you usually wear a rucksack, but it looks like marks I've had where a rucksack moves across the seat as I move on the bike, so it may be a combination of both. Or it's someone's wank stains.
Ahhh!! I believe that is your foot red, I have them on my cowl, when you swing your leg over you might be catching it without realising.
dont wear a ruck sack and its definitely not my foot/boot - maybe once or twice but not that many times the fuel thing makes sense
It's your boot, I have these marks on most of my bike... Fuel would appear as vapour trails and would be all all over the place depending on your speed... Take off your boot and try rubbing it along the seat and match the marks
Don't have a ponytail, do you? Looks like whatever is causing it originates from each side, so I'd look at something on you when you're actually riding. How quick does it build up like that?
would think its more down to something rubbing across like boot, back pack or even the bottom of a jacket cant see unburnt fuel from exhaust coming back on the seat when your traveling as the bike will be moving too fast for it to blow back plus the marks would be the opposite direction back to front rather than side to side the seats on the daytonas do mark very easy if you want to tidy it up a bit and still keep the seat try a tribo seat cover they are like a grippy mesh to stop pillions sliding off as easy
Daft indeed Red675. It is obvious.: It's just the drying out from the damp patch when you given your G/F a lift home. The reason the lines are linear, are simply because her skirt will be the last thing touching the seat as she dismounts (the bike.!) and will therefore leave your smear stains in that direction. Hth.
I'd say boot, especially seeing as they are all mainly on the left of the seat looking from the back and that is the way I always swung my leg over the bike.
Haha, depends which direction you come to the bike from. I'd say boots for definite I've got some light ones just on the edges of the seat, you have obviously got a lazier leg haha
I doubt if it's a boot as the lines are straight. Probably from the previous owner tying down a tailpack.
If it won't come off you can lightly polish the vinyl. I saved a totally shagged gel seat covered in white rub marks and scuffs by polishing the vinyl with t-cut, followed by a lighter polish. It was slippery after but soon wore off... Maybe not such a good idea on the rear seat that gets little use and movement in comparison though
Gonna get someone to watch me get on tomorrow morning see if it's the lazy leg playing up again Will keep you posted
I can confirm that I do in fact appear to have a lazy leg and it is indeed my boot catching on the seat. Thanks all.
