I got bout 152 out of my rc8 but it didn't seem to have much left after that and I ran out of road! Not tried on my superduke yet though!
Had 155 indicated on the STR after a nice run about a week ago before she got tucked up, so probably about 144 after 7% speedo error accounted for. I'm glad people on here like a bit of speed unlike grannies on another site
There's a time and a place for it but it's one of the main reasons why we have bikes isn't it? Gotta love a bit of speed.
I've gotta be honest, my confidence level has risen quite a bit lately on certain types of road...I guess I have somehow just 'decided' to go faster...on Sunday we were up on Hwy 18 coming the long way back from Big Bear...some seriously fast roads up there, and I'm just gazing at the mountains like a bloody tourist...at 100mph!! Going to head back up there tomorrow methinks and take some pics for you lads & lasses....got to a new altitude record of 8493ft on Sunday!!!
OK - just got back from Mugello (what an awesome track!!). As you may know, the start-finish straight is 1.141km / 0.713mi long. At just over halfway on the straight, my speedo indicated 165mph. Didn't have any time to look at it after that point, but I know it kept bouncing off the limiter before the end of the straight. Would estimate it probably topped out at 170mph-ish, as indicated on the speedo. On another note, here's a pic from Mugello - check out the colour of the rumble strips!
Hahaha thanks Really is an awesome track (might even be better than Portimao, which you know I love!) - you should definitely do it if you get the opportunity to!
Still, it's worth being careful. I was caught doing 111 on the A3 last year by a marked Police Car with Provida. Had to go to court over it! I was all 'I'm most terribly sorry Mr Magistrate sir...' in my best posh accent and that with the clean driving licence meant I only got an SP30 with 6 points and £750 fine. But that could have been a ban.
The speedo's over-read pal, if it said 90 on my uncorrected speedo then it certainly wouldn't be saying 90 on his speed gun
As an aside, be very careful about saying the speedo is faulty. It is a rider's responsibility to make sure that everything on the bike is working correctly.
Safjar - I know. I'm not saying your speedo is faulty. Just saying that if anyone thinks of using that as an excuse, think again...
