this may sound like an odd question, but does anyone have or has used, good trackday bags. i want something that i can use for trackdays, eg carrying all the gubbins etc and also use for weekends way and dragging my arse all over the world with work. i have been looking about and there seems only to be two levels. bike it do one but im not sure as to the build quality, but its a good size at 130ltrs. the flip side is alpinestars and two hundred quid. having been traveling through international airports a lot, 6 this month, my luggage gave up on me on the last flight, split right in half.... gaffer tape saved my arse.... but now im shopping and only really one to do it once and need some feedback.
Mmm Hein Gericke do some, called Roll Bag they used to do 40l 60l etc and were waterproof and cheap! Worked like Kreiga with a roll over top. Worth a stab.
i've also heard the bike it bags are crap. have a look on demon tweeks, they have a few. my dad got the big bell bag and it looks pretty well made, not been used yet so i cant confirm. its up for £130 but he got it for about £110 i think by ringing and asking if they could do anything about the price.
cheers guy sbut it needs to be of a size i can use for work travel as well as track and holiday travel. so far the front runner is one of these; http://www.ogiobags.co.uk/products/moto/mx-9800/diego dear but cheaper than the astars and it is ticking the boxes so far.
Ive got a North face 90L waterproof thing. http://uk.thenorthface.com/tnf-uk-en/eq ... colour=630 its cool.
have you looked at this? http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Motorspor ... 12/0/88070 its longer than the ogio bag you're looking at but not quite as wide, probably a similar size litre wise.
just a quick heads up. i went for the ogio 9800 in the end and it is awesome. as a quick test i tried filling it with all the stuff i think that i need for a trackday (kit wise). Boots, lid (in extra padded section), leathers, back protector, visors, towel, spare shirt and socks, sunnies and an empty tupperware tub (to be filled at with lunch at a later date). It all went in with space to spare and the layout of the pockets is excellent as is the quality of construction. As well as loading it up to see what i could get in it i also pulled it up and down the stairs a few times to see how sturdy and easy it was to maul about. good news is that the 'sled' part on the base works wonders and is soo much easier to maul when compared to my old luggage. the moral of the story; Id highly recommend ogio 9800. the designer was someone who either design a bag that they wanted to use or someone who really listend to the feedback from riders trawlling all over the world.
