Seriously, can someone offer any advice as I'm fighting with 3 trim clips on the inside of the fairing that just won't come out. The clips aren't turning but the screws still not coming out.

Get a flat head screw driver and push down on them should pop out a little on the bottom side and you can pull them out

Are we talking about the small black scrivits, of which the Daytona has 4, 2 at the front and 2 at the back of the fairing, under the bike, where they join each other?

If so, like above, pop a small flat head screwdriver on the screw and push it, it should just pop out, or apply pressure from inside while unscrewing from the outside, chances are its just clogged with dirt and muck.

If there the little black screws im thinking of,if you can get your fingers behind the fairing and squeeze the the thread part of the clip and unscrew the screw they come out. Accessible ones i swapped for number plate nuts and bolts and others for push fit clips.

I won!!! Amazing what walking away from something for 5 minutes can achieve!

Thanks Steffy! I went for the leverage behind pulling it out and then unscrewing it!

No worries, they are soft and just get bunged up with road grime, give 2 mins in a cup of hot water before u pop them back in.

    Glad its sorted.

  7. What does it taste like after 2 mins I normally use 3 for my brew.

    +1 on the brew!

Seriously though, I've found the secret to those things is to unscrew them but not to apply any forward pressure to the screwdriver, it's a not really a proper thread on the inner part so is easily pushed in (Which is how they are assembled initially by the looks of them). Glad you got sorted Ozzer.

I felt like throwing them over my fence when I got them out!

I did in fact have a brew, calm down and carried on. Only to then have even more issues with a stuff oil filter!

Had an oil filter wrench which was useless, cut an old belt and used it with some grips but still couldn't budge it!

In the end I hammered a screwdriver through it and hammered that in order for it to come loose. Bit dodgy I know but it worked! :bang:

Give the bike a proper clean whilst it was stripped, checked a few things and topped her up with some Catrol Power 1 Racing oil. Just letting her run for a minute and I'll check the level again and then I'm out on the road for a wee ride in the sunshine!

Thanks for all your help guys! (thanks button pressed!)
