Heyas, This is what my other half sent to Triumph the other day Unfortunately we just got an automated response about there being no tours at this time.. "Hello, My partner has just bought herself a brand new 675R. Seeing as I am now relegated to no.2 in the household and have come close to giving up the bed so she can sleep with the thing I thought a factory tour would flood her need for all things Triumph and this would help my lonely situation of having become a '675R widower' (probably a common phenomenon amongst partners of 675R owners). Can you advise of next available dates please. Yours beggingly, Glyn. My sanity is in your hands. x" Bless!
They stopped the factory tours about 2-3 years ago, siting time and safety as the reasons. It used to be a free dealer run thing, but it's now a no no. Your best bet is Triumph Live. I went on the last one in 2010, and they laid on free coaches to have the factory tour. It wasn't much of a tour tbh, it was a walk through the factory, which had some signs up, with odd info. An insight, and ok for free, have a nosey in the Live info, on Triumphs site, see if the tour is on again this year.
Just checked: Given the huge success of the inaugural Triumph Live event in 2010, the event has been extended from one to three days to include live bands both Friday and Saturday nights; stunt riding shows; championship racing from the Triumph Triple Challenge race series; factory tours; road, track and off-road demo rides; plus a host of other displays and attractions such as the infamous Wall of Death. Factory tour is included!!
It was indeed a very interesting tour, but the walk through the factory at last years Triumph Live event was a waste of time. It took longer waiting for the bus than it did to walk round, which was pretty much restricted to skirting round the outside. After bigging up the previous experience to a mate, we were both disappointed.
The tour we did through this site was superb, well worth the drive to the factory - even got a free triumph hat out of it and bought a factory tour mug. If there's enough interest I'll look into organising another one late this year or early next year - I know they've pretty much stopped the tours they were doing through the year - I'll try and make contact with the Triumph Staff that organised it last time again later this year - the worst they can do is say no to us.
I did one in 2010 I'm sure. Was alright. An excuse for a ride and nice to see people's dreams being put together. Sent by me from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Amazing!
I'll have a look into the possibility of organising one the end of this year - try and pull a few strings at triumph to accomplish this. I'll keep everyone posted but I can't provide guarantees.
'Towards the end of the year'?? - December again    Andysjt and me were mad enough to ride, the M6 from Wolverhampton down to the M69 was freezing and fogbound, and when we arrived at the factory everyone else had come in a feckin car!!!!! And then it pissed down with freezing rain and hailstones all the way home, well I can laugh about it now
