    My 2012r failed Mot on tyre tread, so swap for nice merry new one was just wondering has anyone used the failed road tyre as a track slick? Diablo supercorsa

    Nope, normally there quite squared off, so tipping in becomes fun :)

    Worth a try, if your ok with changing then over.

    If its failed from lack of tread the centre part must be near the carcass or am I missing something?
    Sounds a bit dodgy to me lol

    mate I honestly wouldn't take mine and S dogs word for it, I don't do track days and steffys track history lasts for one corner

    Fwiw I've used (well worn road-use) Pirelli Slippery-corsas to slither my way round both a very damp Cadwell & a semi-flooded Oulton.
    I survived both encounters.
    I now have some WOWs, which is far cheaper in the long run than the inevitable repairs from trying to eek the last out of old tyres IMHO.

    P.S. With regards to the previous replies.: FYI Steffy is a talented, if rather unlucky, track rider.
    ...& poor @Red675 may have yet to free himself from the burdens associated with road riding, but has allegedly "shown considerable promise" when "practising for that day" on public roads.

    How much for a new or even part worn compared to fixing the bike when you go grass tracking....
