Annoyed cos Stratstones fitted the Scotty, and I shelled out for the dual injector, and guess what - my chain is rusty. Yes the bike stood in the garage for a few weeks while I was away but the oil should surely coat the side of the chain top. So I'm cleaning off the fkn rust and smearing a thin coating of engine oil over it to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Went out for a few hours (110 mile) blast all over, reading, top H Cafe where I saw old bill parked up, headed towards oxford and Abingdon then towards wantage then back home....such a great ride loving the weather now just need it to hit up abit more warmer Sent from my LT30p using Tapatalk 2
I went the h cafe too today rossgo. We ll have to meet up sometime. Hmmm black bike you werent getting your knee down on a round about were you?
Gave my Street Triple R a good long blast up to Blackburn... and back again. 520 miles round trip... veeeeery windy!
Could well be the Scottoiler isn't adjust properly, so there isn't enough coming out. I'd suggest turning it up. The chain should be nicely wet, buy without the back wheel being filthy. It needs to be adjusted to your riding style, as it works off vacuum from the engine, so it will disperse more at higher RPM, but of course different people use the gear differently, so you may crusie around at 40mph in first, whereas another person may cruise around in 5th at the same speed, so yours will be filthy wet and theirs not so much. Hope I made sense
Hi 23 I'm always trying!! I was coming from reading way heading towards oxford, off the H cafe roundabout! Must of been around 1230pm maybe Yea any time mate as long as the weather is good What was the old bill doing down H? Sent from my LT30p using Tapatalk 2
Took a ride over to Pirbright bends near camberley. Finished scrubbing the tyres in. Went to a mates workplace to show him the bike as he hasn't seen it. Rode home smiling.
Had a couple of hours blast in the peaks this afternoon. Matlock for fish n chips then up to Monsal head. Then back through chatsworth.
Brought her home for the first time. Swapped my 2009 for a 2013 675r. Hope to run her in quickly as its tough staying at low revs :-/
A nice dirty day in the garage on my 675 as I've a trackday this Friday. fairing off followed by removing the air filter & box, velocity stacks and taking the plugs out to check/clean. Fitted GB Racing Kit and Samco hoses and put it all all back together apart from the fairing. Tomorrow it will be an oil change and flushing the cooling system. This is the first time I have seen under the fairing of this bike as I bought it over Xmas and its been standing since but Im hoping it will start tomorrow PLugs were of a racing type that I've not seen before, as per top right of this photo...
Semi surface discharge plugs.! One hell of a gap for the spark to jump IMO. Seems someone was serious about kitting it up for racing. Do those things need replacing more frequently than std layout.?
The spec of the bike is something else but the previous owner was rather good on it and set a few series records on it... I haven't started it as I'm off to buy some standard plugs, rad flush etc. Under the tank was some kit that's new to me with lots of for racing purposes only stamped on it, the engine has been engraved with what looks like someones name/date etc and will try to make it out later.
