That's what I was thinking Hadies. I seem to remember one of our most knowledgeable members mentioning that certain oils can create clutch slip.
I'm pretty certain that car oil is wrong (as it is intended for engine only, not engine gearbox & clutch).

  3. Nothing unusual.

    Good spot mate.

 So much for my guess

  5. Some TLC and basic maintenance... which resulted in finding white goo on an oil filler cap. I hope it's just condensation caused by cold weather and not a blown head gasket :/

  6. Changed the rear brake pads and bled brake fluid. Changed the front pads as well. All in aid of mallory park on 4 may.

I also attempted to try and adjust the main beam but epically failed, it's impossible to actually get a screwdriver to the adjuster. There must be a way?!??

When I get chance again I'll adjust the clutch cable and also strip and clean and maybe disable the EXBV then test ride and see if it was that sticking shut. Fingers crossed its an easy and CHEAP fix.

in a bike engine with a wet clutch some oils intended for cars can make the clutch slip its best to always make sure its compatable with wet clutch before you buy it

  15. I changed the screen screws for Probolt ones. That's about the limit of my mechanical aptitude. Then I did the remaining 75 miles to hit the magic 1000 mile mark. Blue lights now set at 14,500 RPM. Happy days.

Took mine to Brands and got it noise tested.... peaked at 107 Db with the small baffle in.

Retested at 103.4 (held it at just under 6k). ;)

Looks like a full baffle if I want to do a trackday

Fitted a new tail unit from dodge, and slapped on some techspec tank pads. Contemplated putting on chain adjusters and frame, swingarm carbon protectors, next time!
