Hi guys I'm looking at getting some new boots in the upcoming week. I use my bike mainly for road but intent on track days. I had the pilot power 2cts on my cbr and Gsxr I got on with them well I e been looking at the s20 Bridgestone and Diablo Rosso corsa. What are your opinions guys I felt like the 2cts gave me good confidence in the corners.

Iv always liked the Maxxis Supermaxx sports. Awesome grip and warm up really quick. They arent amazing in the wet but not terrible.
I had them on my sv before I got the tona and once the corsas are shot on this I will probably have the maxxis put on.

Vinnie, you ask 100 bikers about tyres and you're going to get 100 totally different answers.

FWIW, I just recently had a Diablo Rosso Corsa on my rear...it was a great tyre, but TBH I didn't get much more mileage from it than I do on more performance-based SCs....I probably wouldn't buy them again.

i loved the diablo rosso corsas i had on my tona but then when i got them changed there was a new version which i hated

loving maxxis supermaxx sports, amazing in the dry and i find really good in the wet

    Re: What tires?

I've had three sets on my bike, I started with the Corsas, great in the dry. Bambi on ice when it came to being in the wet, second set was some dunlop sportsmarts, great tyres really in both dry and wet and got about 6500 miles out of them.

Currently on a set of pirelli angels mainly for the mileage I should get from them. But they are grippy in the wet and just as good in the dry.

Not sure if that helps, but if you're looking for a sporty tyre the dunlops are pretty good.

Mitchelin road pilots 3 amazing tire in wet, cold, ice and heat however not sporty at all so not a good tire for track but great for road if you use in all weather's :)

Thanks for the feed back guys, which super maxis you guys got ? There's a couple of types I can see. I've never looked at maxxis as a brand before as I always thought they sort of we're a budget brand but there higher range look quite good

    Re: What tires?

Why not stick to the power 2ct? You know them and like them. I used them on track all last year and never had a problem with them can get some good lean angle with them and plenty of feel. The bike was also used on the road i did plenty of trackdays on the same set of tyres.

    Re: What tires?

Yeah, my minds telling me that but sort of fancied a change if you know what I mean. I can get the 2cts fitted for 180 quid so ill probably end up with them.

  11. Re: What tires?

    Tyres killed in the following order;

Pilot road (great grip, let's go smoothly when pushed too hard lasted ages despite abuse)

Supercorsa (amazing feel and grip lets go beautifully. wet and cold not so great but liveable)

Diablo 3 ( shite, vague, lets go abruptly, I was glad of the massive puncture giving me an excuse (a first))

Racetec (same as sc above, love it)

    Supercorsa (waiting to go on)

That just my thoughts on the matter. It's fairly clear that I'd take feel over longevity.

  12. Re: What tires?

Metzeler Sportec's get a good review

  13. Re: What tires?

Diablo rosso corsa is good, have been using them for the last 4 months, happy with them at cold and wet weather on the roads.....but tried them once on track, not 100% satisfied with them on the track....

For track days and summer time rideout, I use racetec K2 rear and K1 front....

I have been thinking to try out pilot power 3 or Bridgestone S20 as my next set of road tyres...

  14. Re: What tires?

Had 2ct's on my first daytona loved them. Then put Conit Motions on great handling in the dry and the wet and seemed to warm up super quick.

This winter I've had Bridgestone BT023's running on one of my Daytona's the R1 is running S20R's and they are fucking sublime at all temps they just have wicked good grip and you just feel everything the bike is doing. Hit 4 inches of standing water on the 023's and it didn't move a muscle absolutely fantastic in wet weather.

For Track I've got race scrubs :D

  15. Re: What tires?

Just fitted S20R's to my 675R last week, in preparation for the new track season. Unfortunately snow has stopped that from happening this weekend :(

Normally run used race scrubs (Racetec's) but fancied using the bike on the road for a bit too this time. Heard good things about the S20's and fancied a change.

    Re: What tires?

I've had the Corsas, Power Pures and I currently have S20's.

Found them all more than adequate! Corsas give ME more confidence in the dry and the S20's have the same effect in the rain. All in all, I don't think you could go far wrong with any.

    Re: What tires?

Race scrubs are frickin' awesome....cheap, and already without chicken-strips...they're like buying used knee-pucks for your leathers!!

  18. Re: What tires?

The only downside to Bridgestone S20`s is they seem to wear the rear quite quickly , having said that for £215 a pair , i will be getting more of these . Brilliant tires (just for dazzman)

I like Metzeler M5's, far far better than the Qualifier 2's they replaced.

    Re: What tires?

Ive found the corsas to be okay, only really ridden in pishy weather so far, and not had any bother with them... have been riding like a granny though in the wet!
