I ride because I love the freedom and the camaraderie amongst us lot.

I also love the way that I have never had a bad ride. Even in the cold, dark, wind and rain on my old D600 when I couldn’t use main beam cause the bike would cut out. It was on flooded back roads 2 winters ago at the end of a 6 hour ride (with 1 AA call out) and instead of it being shit, it turned into man and his beloved Triumph against nature. We won! Awesome, that’s why I ride.

Love the feeling if stringing a set of bends together at high speed with my knee on the deck and the odd protest from my TT. Do something everyday that scares you, makes you feel more alive.

I ride because I'm terrified of bikes & at the same time I'm fascinated by them..there's just an intrinsic "coolness" to riding that is inexplicable.

It is the feeling I had when I was 16 and riding my FS1E... :D I could go anywhere when I wanted, how I wanted, and with who I wanted... Oh yeh and look cool with it (well possibly :rotfl: )

Freedom - yes :D, clearing the mind of all the crap that fills it during the working week, Riding a bike is about 100% concentration for what you are doing, thus taking away all the other distractions of life for the time you are on it. ;)

Meeting up with mates for a brew and a natter, or just riding where the bike takes you, I have not found another hobby, sport or pastime that gives me the thrill of riding around on two wheels.
And most of all - I CAN :D

And now after the fest this year I can add another aspect to it, and that is to do it again soon with a group of like minded nutters

    That's why I ride!

  7. For questions like this....where everyone is so positive about an experience that we all share but can be so different for all of us....

Plus I like going fast (that's 70 miles an hour Officer!)

The way that it is always exciting and we will all stop to see a bike go passed.

I am totally suckered into it. I sold my bike when I got my first car and then 1 week later i had a bike again and then my life was complete once more even though it was the middle of a freezing december.

  9. +1 for all the above comments but im not 100% sure why i ride..all i know is i enjoy it...
the icing on the cake for me would be the ability to overtake and see the faces of those nobhead drivers in their overpriced, so called FAST cages and watch them disappear in my mirrors

  10. i ride cos i love it even a crappy ride on the bike is better than the best day in the car theres always something to improve on ,and i like the tinkering aswell ,,its like when boy racers pass there test then go and buy a fiesa and go spend all there money on stickers n crap ,well this is the big boys /girls league ;)

  11. Agree with all the above, theres not alot I can think to add as you've all hit the nail on the head!!

I do love the fact that no two rides are the same, even nipping out on it puts a grin on your face! :D

You don't need to get on a bike for that. No excuses needed ;)

I gotta be honest, my bike is really an expensive toy. I don't need it as such, I have a car, I managed OK for years without one, but now I think I'd rather sell a body part than sell my bike.

Thing is Ed, I don't suppose you'll get 1% of the bikes worth, for any of your body parts!
