I will be most appreciative, on behalf of my girlfriend - new to the motorcycle scene, for information from those who know about the different "Cuts" used by different manufacturers of ladies motorcycle clothing. My young lady is very well blessed in the chest department, and is having difficulty finding a jacket that allows room for the "girls" without being overly baggy around the shoulders and waist. Information on which manufactures and styles provide the best cut for her will be very gratefully received. At this early stage of the introduction to motorcycles, made to measure is out of the budget range, and she has become exasperated being dragged from one bike shop to another. I'm such a lucky guy, I have a beautiful girlfriend who does not like shopping....
Thank you Legacey, a great resource. I had tried Girlsbike2, but they seem to have gone out of business.
Sadly, biking gear being too tight in the chest department is not a "problem" that I suffer from. I've found that Alpinestars textiles are pretty true to their sizing guide but the leathers can be hit and miss. Dainese sizing bears no relation to their size guides whatsoever and everything that I've tried on has been a different fit. *Annoying*. The best of the big name brands that I've found so far for fitting true is Spidi and, as I'm a superficial label junkie, I've tried most of them! On Yer Bike has a reasonable girl selection in their shop. If you want to risk buying online then I've found Revzilla and Fc-moto.de have a brilliant laydee range with really good size guides and, in the case of the former, buying guides.
Completely agree with Janey. I too have too much up top so it's difficult to find something to fit and not look like maternity wear! Best thing to do is just try as many as you can to find a good fit. I found Hein Gericke to be pretty good
Have you thought about some custom ones, or pm Lucky 13, she's also a bit mmm, ample. I'd contact Christine:
Thank you for the contact for "Cougar" Steffy Dog, but after the last 18 months of student life and having to sell my D675 Track Bike and ST675Rx to help fund myself through my Master's degree, I'm not rally in the made-to-measure price bracket. Maybe, for next summer, after a year back at work... ?
Ah, true, just an option, might be worth a call, just for a guide price, or for an alteration cost of new, to let out some extra material in certain areas. Christine is lovely!
You are probably correct Steffy Dog. Find something in a design she likes, that fits on the shoulders and around the waist, then have some professional adjustments made for a perfect fit. Cheers R
I'm quick to complain when something is not up to "Snuff". So, I better speak up when I get good service. Three cheers for LadyBiker, as recommended by Legacey. A pair of armoured Leggings Ordered, delivered, one size too large. An email to the folks at Lady Biker to enquire what their return policy is, and before you know it, a size smaller is delivered, without asking and before the originals are even in the post on the way back. Top level customer service. Hurrah!!!
